Toronto, At least 14 people have been killed and another 14 injured in a collision involving a junior hockey team's bus in Saskatchewan, Canada, according to the police.

There were 28 people in the vehicle at the time of the accident that took place on Friday when a semi-trailer collided with the bus, reports CBC News. Rescue efforts continued till late evening.

India had lost to Australia in the finals of the 2010 and 2014 editions of the CWG and this time, their aim is again to go the full distance.

Being organised under the ambit of the Vibrant Networking Forum, the two-day festival was inaugurated by hockey legend Balbir Singh Sr., who is a three-time Olympic gold champion having played a key role in India's wins in the London, Helsinki and Melbourne Olympics.

New Delhi, Ace midfielder Manpreet Singh is set to lead the Indian mens hockey team at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, starting April 4, while the experienced former captain Sardar Singh has been left out of the 18-member squad, announced by Hockey India on Tuesday.

The Indian team is grouped in Pool B along with Pakistan, Malaysia, Wales, England and will begin their campaign on April 7 against Pakistan.

New Delhi,  Defending champions Eastern Sporting Union will take on Indira Gandhi Academy for Sports & Education on the opening day of the 2nd edition of the Indian womens football league in Shillong on March 25, it was announced on Tuesday.

The tournament will be played among seven teams who face each other once with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals to be played on April 12. The final is slated for April 15.
