New Delhi :Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has set up Eco friendly ultra modern fully computerized four colour offset printing press to print copies of Sikh holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj sahib Complex as per the Sikh religious code. DSGMC supplies Sikh religious books and literature to NRI sikhs in around 50 countries in the globe at present .
Siromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committtee Amritsar and DSGMC Delhi has only exclusive and legal rights for publication of the authentic version holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji along with other Gurmat literature, (philosophy of the Gurus) worldwide, The SGPC controls all rights for the legal printing of the Granth Sahib which is now done in Amritsar and New Delhi only in entire world .. The SGPC and DSGMC are the world’s largest publisher of authentic Sikh religious books and literature said Sh Manjinder Singh Sirsa .President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today .
The new carbon nuetral , energy saving printing press set up with total cost of around eight crore rupees has optimum capacity of printing fifteen thousand pages per hour with maximum sheet size 650x940 MM which will meet the growing demand of holy book worldwide mainly among overseas Sikh devotees. . The new ISO 9001quality management standard and ISO 14001 environment management standard machine which will reduce carbon dioxide emission per sheet has replaced twenty years old two colour printing press which has published approximately one lakh copies of holy scripture guru granth sahib ji in its total life span .
The DSGMC has set up new machine in a bid to keep pace with latest printing technology in the world and meet international standards in printing technologies . The Sikh holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji is integral part of Sikh ways of life in day to day life besides it is used at the time of marriage, birth and death by Sikhs worldwide .
The Holy Guru Granth Sahib ji will be made available to sikh devotees on subsidized rates and besides it sikh literature like calender , dairies etc will also be published in the new printing press to propagate the Sikhism said Sh Manjinder Singh Sirsa ..President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today .
The new golden offset printing press has been set up at newly constructed Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan in Gurdwara Rakab Ganj complex . The work for installation of the new machine was undertaken by Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuri wale who was also assigned with the ‘kar sewa’ of the new building named as Granth Sahib Bhawan of printing press.
The new Press will be changed from analogue to full digital press; from conventional to computerized print operations and from monochrome press operation to a full process quality colour printing operations which is capable of not only of good quality in minimum time but also high volume delivery.
Use of ultra modern machines will save time, reduce production cost and, most significantly, improve the quality said Sh Manjinder Singh Sirsa . President DSGMC .
The 1, 430-page Holy Guru Granth Sahib ji which consists of holy verses of Sikh Gurus and 30 other saints like Kabir, Ravidass, Namdev etc will be printed and delivered to devotees in accordance to strict adherence to the 'Reyat Maryada' (Sikh religious code of conduct)
