251 units collected at blood donation camp Indo Global Colleges

Indo Global Group of Colleges organized 3days health awareness program with theme Health Awareness & Blood Donation. 251 Units of blood was collected during a Blood Donation Camp spearheaded by Neelam Singla, Chairperson of Indo Global Colleges in association with Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
A team of Doctors headed by Dr. Divjot Singh Lamba from PGI, Chandigarh collected blood from the volunteers after due screening and medical checkup. The Engineering, MBA, Architecture, BBA, BCA, B.Com., B.Ed. and ETT students along with faculty participated enthusiastically for this 13th Blood Donation Camp which is an annual feature of the Indo Global Colleges.
On this occasion Neelam Singla, Chairperson said that the aim of camp is to spread awareness amongst the students and people at large on the importance of Blood Donation and how each drop of blood donated can be a life saver for the needy. Poster making competition, quiz & Slogan writing competition was held wherein students drew many attractive, meaningful, inspiring posters on blood donation. The blood donation drive commenced at 9 am sharp with students queuing up for donating blood. The volunteers were busy organizing the donors and ensuring that each donor is given refreshments and proper care. The blood donation session had both pre and post event counseling which was done students themselves to their fellow student donors thus motivating many participants towards this noble cause.
Congratulating the students and organizers Sukhdev Kumar Singla Chairman of Indo Global Colleges said that Donating blood is like gifting a new life. Blood donation is a noble act, as losing just a pint of blood would make no difference to a healthy individual, while a needy patient may get a new life.
