Rana Sodhi condoles demise of Asian Games Gold Medallist Hakam Singh

 

 

Chandigarh,

The Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Punjab, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi has expressed profound grief over the demise of Asian Games Gold medal winner Hakam Singh who passed away at a private hospital in Sangrur. Hakam Singh won Gold in 20 KM walk event during 1978 Asiad at Bangkok.

 

Condoling the demise of the veteran player, Rana Sodhi said that both Punjab as well as the country would remember the glorious achievements of Hakam Singh in sporting arena. He also termed the passing away of Hakam Singh as end of an era and an irreparable loss to the sports fraternity.

 

The minister prayed to the almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
