Badnore salutes martyrsfor their sacrifice on flag day

CHANDIGARH

Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh, Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi and Brig. (Retd.) J.S. Arora, Director Sainik Welfare Punjab pinned Armed Forces Flag on the Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore today on the occasion of the Armed Forces Flag Day at Punjab Raj Bhavan.

Releasing the annual magazine of Punjab Sainik Welfare, the Governor said that our Armed Forces have been serving the Nation with great distinction both during war and peace. This day reminds us of our responsibility towards the Armed Forces for their splendid service and sacrifice for the Motherland. On this day, we also salute the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice and courage.

The Governor has especially asked the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi, who is also the Chairman of Indian Red Cross to encourage the youth towards joining the forces through motivational talks in the institutions also focus on imparting specialized training in the field.

       The Governor urged all the citizens to voluntarily contribute towards the noble cause of the rehabilitation of war widows, disabled defence personnel and Ex-servicemen and make the Armed Forces Flag Day a great success.

Shri V.P. Singh Badnore made the donation on this auspicious day.

       Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Col. K.S. Chaudhary, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Mr. Mohan Rana, Supdt., Mr. V.K. Dhiman, Welfare Officer, Col. Vijay Kumar, OSD, Mr. Gurmit Singh, Ms Gursharn Kaur and Ms Rajwinder Kaur.
