Amritsar-A high-level delegation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will soon visit the United States of America to set up a press for publishing holy saroops (scriptures) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in California. This delegation will be led by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. The SGPC executive committee has decided to establish this press in the city of Tracy, California. Along with this, the SGPC is also planning to establish Dharam Prachar Kendra (religious preaching center) and Gurdwara Sahib there. The SGPC was offered land and other necessary support for setting up this religious preaching center and press by the founder of Diwan Todarmal Heritage Foundation, a Sikh scholar Gian Singh Sandhu of Canada, the patron of the foundation, eminent businessman Karnail Singh Sandhu of USA and Punjab representative of the foundation Lakhwinder Singh Kahneke.
SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said in a press statement that for a long time, there has been a great demand for the holy saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from the Sangat of USA and Canada, in view of which this decision has been taken. He said that the SGPC center to be established in Tracy, California will not only print the holy saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, but it will also represent the SGPC for the USA and Canada. This center will be functioning under the leadership of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the sewa (voluntary service) for the same will be taken from Gian Singh Sandhu, Karnail Singh Sandhu, Satnam Singh Sandhu and Iqbal Singh Sandhu. The representative of Diwan Todarmal Heritage Foundation for its coordination with the Sikh body in Punjab will be performed by Lakhwinder Singh Kahneke. The services of Harmesh Singh USA, leader of the foundation will also be important.
Harjinder Singh Dhami said that a delegation of the SGPC will visit the USA to decide the outline of this development and take other necessary action. He said that this delegation will include members and officials along with besides himself (SGPC President). He also informed that this SGPC delegation will also visit Yuba City, where the process of setting up a religious preaching center is already underway.
