Chandigarh- Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh said that flights to various states will soon commence from Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. Following this, the airport will also be connected to international destinations. He added that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi will inaugurate the airport when flights begin.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the people after laying the foundation stone and inaugurating several development projects, including the expansion of Maharaja Agrasen Airport, which will cost approximately Rs 544 crore in Hisar today.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the people of Haryana, particularly the residents of Hisar, stating that nine different projects worth Rs 339 crore have been inaugurated at this domestic airport named after Maharaja Agrasen.
He said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed for airport operations, and soon flight services from Hisar will begin to various destinations including Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ayodhya, Jammu, and Ahmedabad. This development will benefit not only the local residents but also the people of Punjab, Rajasthan, and other states. The enhanced connectivity is expected to be a milestone in the development of Hisar and will significantly contribute to the state's progress.
The Chief Minister highlighted that under Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi's leadership, the country has achieved remarkable development over the past decade. He mentioned that under the Udan Yojana, air travel has become accessible to the common man, and the commencement of development work at this airport is a testament to that. The goal is to elevate Hisar Airport to international standards in the coming years.
He also said that in October 2020, former Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal initiated the Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of the runway at Hisar Airport. The construction of the 3, 000 meter long runway has been completed, and the parallel taxiway is also being expanded.
Sh Nayab Singh stated that over the past 10 years, the double-engine government of the Center and Haryana, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, has constructed 1, 350 km of national highways in Haryana at a cost of more than Rs 40, 000 crore. In addition, significant work has been done on various major railway projects, benefiting the people of the state.
He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, numerous initiatives have been undertaken to uplift the poor, enabling them to live with dignity in society. He also congratulated the public on Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister of the country for the third consecutive term. The Prime Minister has committed to making India a developed nation by 2047, and Haryana will actively contribute to this vision.
The CM said that after being sworn in as Prime Minister for the third time, Narendra Modi released the 17th installment of Rs 20, 000 crore under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Additionally, the Prime Minister has pledged to provide three crore new houses for the poor.
Targeting the opposition, Chief Minister said that the Congress party has nothing substantial to say. He accused them of spreading lies and creating confusion. He stated that Congress leaders sometimes approach the Governor and sometimes create an atmosphere of insecurity, despite not having sufficient MLAs. He criticized the opposition for misleading the public during the last elections by falsely claiming that if Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for the third time, he would abolish the Constitution. He asserted that under Modi's leadership, the country has been governed in accordance with the Constitution, while the Congress has disrespected it.
The Chief Minister highlighted the Haryana Government's HAPPY scheme, which provides free travel of 1, 000 kilometers per year to every family member with an annual income of less than Rs one lakh. He also mentioned the launch of the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, under which families with an annual income of less than Rs 1, 80, 000 can avail free electricity. Additionally, he informed the removal of the monthly electricity bill charge, stating that consumers will now be billed based on the number of units consumed.
