Chandigarh- Entire SC wing of the party today rallied behind SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal even as wing leaders declared that not even a single SC leader is with rebels and entire rank is with Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Addressing media persons this evening after meeting of the SC wing, its President Gulzar Singh Ranike, former Minister Sohan Singh Thandal and Banga MLA Dr. Sukhwinder Sukhi said that today whole rank and file of the SC wing attended this meeting and expressed full confidence in the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal.
They said that whatever government schemes were enacted and implemented in the state today for the SC community were framed by the Badal government whether it is free power of 200 units, scholarship scheme for the students, Shagun scheme, Atta Dal scheme for the poor and other schemes were implemented by Akali governments.
They said that the whole SC wing is supporting the party President and no one has gone with rebel leaders. They said that SC wing stand in solidarity with Sukhbir Singh Badal and was confident that he only is capable among all to lead this 120 year old party which safeguards rights of poor, downtrodden, farmers and labourers and other sections of the society.
On the occasion replying to media queries, senior SAD leader Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that it is most surprising to see that rebel leaders had announced to pay obeisance at Sri Akal Takht Sahib to seek forgiveness for their errors but before reaching Sri Akal Takht Sahib, they reached resident of Khadoor Sahib newly elected MP Amritpal Singh to meet his family. He said that this shows that for these leaders politics is above even from Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
He said that on reaching Sri Akal Takht Sahib, these leaders submitted a four point letter and failed to seek forgiveness for even a single error during life time though most of these leaders are in their seventies or sixties.
He said that Akali Dal working committee had also urged these leaders to come to the party forum to discuss every issue instead of going to media. He said that we are always ready to discuss everything at party forum but these leaders have nothing to say about issues rather they are projecting themselves as ‘real’ leaders though everyone knows it is Sukhbir Singh Badal in whom the whole party had showed full faith.
