Ambala - Haryana's Transport, Energy and Labor Minister Sh. Anil Vij said the government has granted administrative approval of Rs. 92.37 lakhs for the special repair of Ambala Cantt. Bus Stand and repair work on Ambala Cantt. Bus Stand will commence soon.
In this regard, Transport Minister Anil Vij said that structure of the bus stand will be further improved to offer better facilities for passengers. He emphasized that Ambala Cantt. Bus Stand, situated on the GT Road, is one of the most important bus stands, with thousands of passengers boarding and alighting buses daily to travel between various states. He mentioned that the administrative approval of Rs. 92.37 lakhs has been accorded and special repairs will be undertaken shortly.
A surprise inspection at Ambala Cantt. Bus Stand upon taking charge of the Transport Department
Just hours after assuming responsibility for the Transport Ministry, Transport Minister Anil Vij conducted a surprise inspection at Ambala Cantt. Bus Stand to review its facilities. During the inspection, he identified several issues and immediately directed the suspension of the Bus Stand Incharge (SS) on the spot. Within 24 hours of the inspection, the Transport Department had already addressed several highlighted issues to ensure that passengers would not face inconveniences.
Recently, Transport Minister Anil Vij traveled on a bus from Ambala Cantt. Bus Stand to Delhi, interacting with passengers to learn about the challenges which they are faced. During the journey, he also conducted inspections at Karnal and Panipat bus stands.

It’s noteworthy that it was through Transport Minister Anil Vij’s efforts in 1999 that Ambala Cantt. Bus Stand was given a new structure. Originally, it was a smaller bus stand, but Anil Vij’s efforts led to the construction of a new, larger bus stand on GT Road, which became one of the largest bus stands in the region.
