Panvel, Nov 14 – In a recent election rally in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party, labeling it as the "pioneer of vote bank politics" and an "enemy of the poor." He alleged that Congress has consistently promoted policies favoring vote bank politics, highlighting a recent promise by a Congress leader in Jharkhand to distribute free gas cylinders to groups including Rohingyas and Bangladeshis.
PM Modi expressed concerns over Congress’s opposition to welfare schemes for the poor, asserting that the party “wants expenses for the poor to rise, pushing them back into poverty.” He argued that while the Congress had over seven decades to address poverty, their policies allegedly kept the poor reliant on basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter, enabling a cycle of dependency.
According to PM Modi, the current government has lifted 25 crore people out of poverty through proactive policies. “For the first time in 10 years, a government has focused on empowering the poor, ” he said, adding that the “MahaYuti” (BJP-led coalition) aims to make Maharashtra a vital contributor to India’s development.
PM Modi urged Maharashtra residents to support the MahaYuti government, emphasizing their commitment to regional development and the empowerment of coastal communities.
