Singapore fire broke out early Monday morning at a Housing and Development Board (HDB) block on Tampines Street in eastern Singapore, prompting the evacuation of 50 residents as a precaution, according to the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF).
The SCDF received an alert about the fire at approximately 6:40 A.M. Upon arrival, responders observed black smoke emanating from a unit on the 13th floor. Photos shared by the SCDF showed significant fire damage to a bedroom within the affected unit and the corridor outside.
Evacuation and Casualties
Two occupants of the affected unit had evacuated prior to the SCDF's arrival. They were assessed for smoke inhalation but declined hospital treatment.
Around 50 residents from neighbouring units were evacuated as a safety measure.
Fire Contained
The fire, which was confined to the contents of a bedroom, was swiftly extinguished. The SCDF confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
