Amritsar – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has released Rs 13.44 lakh to cover the school and college fees of Sikligar and Vanjara Sikh children. The amount was personally handed over to schools principals by SGPC members Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Surjit Singh Bhittewad, Dharam Parchar Committee (DPC) member Sukhwarsh Singh Pannu and DPC secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan for 111 students studying in Raipur and various parts of Chhattisgarh.

The SGPC has a standing commitment to support the education of Sikligar and Vanjara Sikh children by covering their annual school fees, ensuring they become self-reliant. As part of this initiative, the committee sends funds directly to various educational institutions every year.

Providing further details, Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta stated that the SGPC delegation personally visited schools and colleges in Raipur and Chhattisgarh to ensure the direct transfer of fees for these students. He emphasized that, in line with SGPC’s prior decisions, entire annual fees are deposited at once, allowing for efficient utilization of the funds.

“The purpose of this financial assistance is to empower Sikligar and Vanjara Sikh children through education, enabling them to stand on their own feet in the future, ” Mehta said.

Accompanying the delegation were Gurmeet Singh Saini, in-charge of SGPC’s Sikh Mission at Raipur and Mohandeep Singh, Gurdwara inspector.

SGPC remains committed to uplifting underprivileged Sikh community members and ensuring access to quality education for their children.
