Sri Amritsar- As part of efforts to intensify the wave of religious preaching, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, the officiating Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, visited the city of Rohtak in Haryana today. He paid obeisance in reverence at Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib, a holy site graced by the footsteps of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, and shared Gurmat (Guru’s wisdom) teachings with the local congregation.

On this occasion, a large number of Sikhs from the Jat community, led by Haryana resident S. Manoj Singh Duhan, joined the congregation. Jathedar Gargajj congratulated them on adopting the Sikh identity. He remarked that during the farmers’ protest, a sense of unity developed among the people of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh. During this time, various communities, especially members of the Jat community, embraced Sikhi.

While speaking with the congregation, Jathedar Gargajj said that Gurbani teaches unity and mutual brotherhood, and within Sikhi, every community is equally respected. Citing the verses of Bhagat Dhanna Ji, Bhagat Ravidas Ji, Bhagat Kabir Ji and other revered saints, he inspired the gathering to connect with Sikhi.

During the visit, Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargajj also toured the Sir Chhotu Ram Jat Model School. He highlighted that a century ago, there was a visionary leader in undivided Punjab who understood the issues faced by farmers and made efforts to improve their socio-economic condition. Sir Chhotu Ram played a key role in freeing farmers from the clutches of moneylenders. He was such a visionary that scholarships from the Farmer Welfare Fund he initiated enabled students like Muhammad Abdus Salam to study—Salam later became a Nobel Prize-winning scientist.

Jathedar Gargajj also paid his respects at Gurdwara Sri Tikana Sahib, the spiritual seat of Bhai Matho Murari Ji—one of the 22 Manjidars appointed by Sri Guru Amar Das. The Gurdwara is currently managed by Mahant Dilbag Singh of the Seva Panthi Samprada. Jathedar Gargajj shared Gurmat teachings with the congregation there as well.
