Chandigarh – In a profound tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice of ninth guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his devoted disciples, Bhai Mati Das ji and Bhai Sati Das ji, the Global Sikh Council (GSC) has called upon Sikhs worldwide to participate in a large-scale recitation of ‘Sehaj Paaths’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Council has urged that all recitations of ‘Paaths’ be completed before November 24, 2025, to take part in the collective ‘Bhog’ programs taking place globally on the Martyrdom Day of Guru Sahib.

In a heartfelt message to Sikh Sangat, Gurdwara Committees, Sikh organizations and societies, the GSC president Lady Singh Kanwaljit Kaur and secretary Harjeet Singh Grewal emphasized that this initiative is aimed at to spread awareness about the supreme martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji - who sacrificed his life to uphold the principles of righteousness, religious freedom and humanity. Through this collective effort, the GSC seeks to deepen the spiritual connection of Sikhs with the 115 ‘Shabads’ and ‘Saloks’ of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, inspiring them to reflect on his divine wisdom and timeless teachings.

Beyond remembrance, the GSC has also urged the Sikhs to imbibe the true essence of Gurbani and Gurmat, emphasizing a life of truth, compassion and selfless service. “Sikhs across the world are encouraged to recite, understand and implement the hymns and Saloks of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in their daily lives, fostering unity, peace and the upliftment of humanity”, they added.

As ‘Dhan Guru Tegh Bahadur, Dharam di Chadar’ (Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the protector of religion and human rights) is revered for his unwavering stand against tyranny and oppression, the GSC believes this initiative would revive his legacy and strengthen the Sikhi spirit across generations besides help in propagation of Gurmat values.

The Global Sikh Council humbly appeals to all Gurdwaras, Sikh institutions, and individual devotees to undertake Sehaj Paaths and organize Gurbani Vichar (spiritual discourses) leading up to the Shaheedi Purab on November 24, 2025.
