Chandigarh- The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, stated that the Returning Officer (RO) for Ludhiana West Assembly Constituency, RP Singh, cum Additional Deputy Commissioner (UD), convened a meeting with representatives of all recognized political parties on Friday.
During the meeting, RO Ludhiana West briefed them on the recent directives from the ECI. A key focus of the discussion was the draft publication of the electoral roll for the Ludhiana West Assembly Constituency, which was done on April 9, 2025 and Special Summary Revision being carried out from 9th to 24th of April 2025.
The RO informed that April 24, 2025, marked the final date for submitting claims and objections regarding the draft voter list. All claims and objections received till 24th April will be decided by May 2, 2025, and the final electoral roll will be published on May 5, 2025.
The RO further informed that the copies of form no. 9, 10, 11, 11A, and 11B were provided to representatives of all political parties.
He said that Political parties are vital stakeholders in the democratic process, and such interactions are essential to uphold transparency and mutual cooperation in the electoral system.
The Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Sibin C emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings with political parties to ensure smooth implementation of the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
