Haryana Cabinet grants government jobs to sisters of Martyrs Sepoy Satyawan and Captain Kapil Kundu

Chandigarh- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh Nayab Singh here today accorded Ex-post facto approval for providing government jobs to the sisters of Martyr Sepoy Satyawan and Martyr Captain Kapil Kundu by granting relaxation, being exceptional cases.

Smt Manju Rani, sister of Martyr Sepoy Satyawan has been provided government employment on the post of Clerk in Elementary Education Department against a vacant post and Smt Kajal Kundu sister of Martyr Captain Kapil Kundu on the post of Assistant Employment Officer (Group-B) in the Employment Department.

Sepoy Satyawan of the Army, from village Chandeni in district Charkhi Dadri, was killed in Operation Rakshak in Jammu and Kashmir on April 3, 2004. Captain Kapil Kundu, from village Ransika in Tehsil Patuadi, district Gurugram, was killed in Operation Rakshak in Jammu and Kashmir on February 4, 2018. Both martyrs were unmarried and had no brothers.

The Haryana Government has established a policy for providing compassionate employment to dependents of martyrs from the Armed Forces and Para Military Forces who are domiciled in Haryana. As per this policy one dependent of the deceased soldier is offered employment in Class II, III, or IV positions. The aim is to support the family of the deceased soldier following the loss of their primary bread earner. Under the said policy of the State Government for providing employment under ex-gratia scheme, the dependent of the deceased viz. spouse, dependent children, son, daughter (married or unmarried), brother or legally adopted son/daughter are considered for employment.
