The Department of History under the supervision of Dr Surinder Kaur and Dr Jasneet Kaur organized an exhibition on historical artifacts on September 2, 2024 at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Women Sector 26 Chandigarh.
The event showcased a variety of items, including Harappan seals, Ashoka's emblem, architectural monuments, and coins from different eras such as the Sultanate, Lodhis, Mughals, Banda Bahadur, and Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The exhibition also featured a map of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's reign, paintings of the Anglo-Sikh wars, London newspaper clippings from 1846 and 1849, and rare books like the Mahankosh, writings of Bhai Veer Singh, Babarnama, and works on the Silk Routes and Punjab's cultural and lost heritage. Additionally, there was an art gallery depicting the life of Guru Gobind Singh, after whom the college is named.Approximately 100 students attended the exhibition and gained substantial insights through the visual displays.
