Sanaa, Nov 10 – In a recent escalation, US-British coalition forces conducted seven airstrikes on Houthi-controlled locations in northern Yemen, including military sites in the capital, Sanaa, and Amran province. These strikes, reported by Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV, follow three airstrikes on other sites in Sanaa on Saturday night.
Residents in Sanaa reported powerful explosions that shook the city, though coalition forces have yet to release a formal statement. The recent surge in airstrikes aligns with heightened Red Sea tensions, where the Houthi group has launched drone and rocket attacks against Israeli-linked vessels, purportedly in solidarity with Palestinians.
Since January, the US-led coalition stationed in the Red Sea has intensified its operations to counter the Houthi group’s actions, aimed at safeguarding international shipping lanes amid the ongoing regional conflicts.
