Tokyo, Nov 17 (IANS) – A tragic collision between a tugboat and a pleasure boat off the coast of Kudamatsu in Japan's Yamaguchi prefecture has left three people dead. The accident occurred early Sunday morning at around 5:45 a.m. local time, when the tugboat captain reported the collision.
The impact of the crash threw four individuals from the pleasure boat into the sea. Search and rescue teams swiftly responded and located three of the missing people, who were later confirmed dead. A 28-year-old male passenger from the pleasure boat was found with minor injuries and was rescued by the crew of the tugboat.
The Japanese Coast Guard has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
