Washington, Nov 13 – President-elect Donald Trump has chosen John Ratcliffe, former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and ex-congressman, to lead the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). This move came despite widespread speculation that Indian-American lawyer Kash Patel would take the role due to his strong support of Trump’s policies and contributions to investigating opposition efforts during Trump's first term.
Ratcliffe, praised for his outspoken positions on Russian collusion claims and transparency with the American public, previously served as DNI in Trump’s administration. A statement from the Trump-Vance transition team highlighted Ratcliffe's achievements, including his critical views on FBI practices and his past award of the National Security Medal for distinguished intelligence service.
