Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Ukraine has officially requested long-range Tomahawk missiles from the United States as part of a strategic "victory plan" aimed at deterring further escalation by Russia. Zelensky referred to the request as "confidential information" previously kept between Kyiv and the White House but acknowledged the necessity of preventive measures.

The request for Tomahawk missiles, which have a range of approximately 2, 400 kilometers, is part of what Zelensky called a "non-nuclear deterrence package." This step, he noted, is intended only as a preventive response should Russia continue escalating the conflict. Western media initially reported Zelensky’s request, which has since been widely discussed as part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to secure long-range capabilities against potential threats.

This request highlights ongoing efforts by Ukraine to bolster its defenses with advanced US military technology, underscoring the significance of strategic support as the conflict with Russia persists.
