New Delhi Former Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar on Wednesday extended his support to Jananayak Janta Party (JJP) in the upcoming Assembly polls.

The JJP was floated by Dushyant Chautala, the estranged grandson of Former Chief Minister of Haryana O.P. Chautala.

Ashok Tanwar and Dushyant Chautala addressed a joint press conference, where the former alleged that he has been ignored in the Congress.

New Delhi, Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Kumari Selja, two senior Congress leaders of the state, used to share a frosty political relationship but now both seem to have sunk their differences to strive together to wrest power from the BJP in the October 21 Assembly polls.

New Delhi, The Congress on Monday sought an unconditional apology from Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for his "unparliamentary" comments on Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Congress women's wing chief Sushmita Dev said in a statement: "His (Khattar) remarks against the Congress President are deplorable and unparliamentary, it is a clear reflection of his and the BJP's disrespectful attitude towards women."

Chandigarh, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released its manifesto for the Haryana Assembly polls with no promise to waive farm debt and job reservations, saying it is more realistic and practical than its rival Congress' populist manifesto.

The 25-page manifesto titled 'Mhare Sapne Ka Haryana', which the party described 'Sankalp Patra', was released in the presence of BJP working President J.P. Nadda, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and senior party leaders here.

The manifesto focuses on farmers, labourers and industrialists.

Chandigarh, The Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government in the past five years has changed the image and picture of Haryana that was ridden with corruption and nepotism, BJP working President J.P. Nadda said on Sunday.

"There is not a cosmetic but a fundamental change in Haryana in five years," he said here.

He said the political culture of the state has been drastically changed.

The former is labelled as the lone candidate for whom the saffron party gave up its principal against dynastic politics, while the latter, the grandson of five-time Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, is tagged as an outsider.

Chandigarh, A BJP minister in Haryana on Friday accused the Congress of being a "lie-manufacturing machine", saying "it knows it is not coming to power and just making false promises to the voters".

It also accused the Congress of being irresponsible.

"The Congress has become a lie-manufacturing machine. It knows it is not coming to power and just making false promises to mislead the voters," Cabinet minister and BJP candidate Anil Vij told reporters here.

His reaction came after the Congress promised farm loan waiver and job quota for women in its manifesto which was released here on Friday.

Chandigarh,Jagdish Nayar, the BJP candidate from Hodal (reserved) constituency in Palwal district of Haryana, is seeking votes for the October 21 Assembly elections by placing a shoe on his head.

The reason: he is trying to pacify a community that is aghast at him over his controversial remark against them.

Nayar however, denies that he ever use any derogatory remark against any community, mainly residing in Aurangabad village.

Gurugram, The October 21 Assembly elections in Haryana are now intensifying with both the ruling and the opposition parties taking potshots at each other.

The latest is a tussle between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) that broke out after the arrest of the latter's candidate and ex-BSF constable Tej Bahadur Yadav on Wednesday.

Tej Bahadur was arrested on Wednesday in Jhansi where he had gone to protest against the alleged fake encounter of Pushpendra Yadav by the Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday.
