New Delhi, A week after IANS reported how internet telephony was helping gangsters make a killing from NCR jails, authorities in Tihar jail conducted a surprise check and found two high-end Android mobile phones hidden beneath the bedsheet and pillow of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala who is lodged there, an officer said on Friday.

The cellphones were recovered from Chautala's possession on Wednesday after officials in Tihar jail conducted a surprise inspection in Jail No. 2.

Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said the state-level function of International Yoga Day on June 21 would be held in Rohtak where Union Home Minister Amit Shah would be the chief guest.

As many as 21,000 people are expected to participate in the programme to be organised by the state AYUSH Department.

Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved the construction of six nursing colleges at a cost Rs 194.30 crore in the state so as to overcome the shortage of trained and qualified nursing personnel, it was announced on Tuesday.

The nursing colleges will be constructed within 15 months, an official spokesman said.

He said two colleges would be constructed in Faridabad district, while one each in Rewari, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Panchkula districts.

Chandigarh, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday failed to submit adequate documents in a case related to the re-allotment of a plot to Associated Journals Ltd (AJL), the publisher of National Herald newspaper, in a special CBI court in Haryanas Panchkula. The court listed the matter for hearing on July 12.

Congress leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a former Chief Minister of Haryana, and Moti Lal Vora are the accused in the case.

"Since adequate documents have not been provided as demanded by us, the court fixed July 12 as the next date of hearing," defence counsel S.P.S. Parmar told reporters.

Gurugram, In a bid to ease traffic on Gurugram roads, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a 31.11-kilometre metro line between HUDA City Centre and Cyber City Rapid Metro.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Monday.

"To be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5,126 crore by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC), the metro line will have 25 stations and six interchange stations, and would be operational by 2023," said V. Uma Shankar, CEO of the GMDA.

New Delhi, The Enforcement Directorate on Friday said it had attached a Rs 1.94 crore property of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala in the national capital in a disproportionate assets case.

According to the probe agency, the property, comprising land and a farm house, has been attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The ED earlier attached properties worth Rs 4.15 crore of Om Prakash Chautala.
