Chandigarh Meeting of Chandigarh Traders Association held under the Presidentship of Mr. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, the Traders decided to promote and work for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign.Mr. Panchhi educated the Traders about the details of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign initiated by the Govt. of India and shared his thoughts on the same.
He said that the most important thing right now is to completely cut down female feticide and also uphold that this discrimination must end as could cause a "terrible crisis" soon. " By persisting with such a discrimination against girl child, the nation would not only harm itself but also generations to come and it will take a lot of commitment and many years before the imbalance in sex ratio ended, " he stated.
Mr. L.C. Arora stated that it is unfair to choose between boys and girls. If one expects and demands an educated daughter in law then why does one not pay emphasis on his daughter's birth and education? "Making a son an engineer or a doctor and making your daughter sit at home and learn household tasks is a absolute practice that has to be eliminated now, " he added.
All the Traders member joined hands to promote on this campaign and decided to publicize the same throughout the city and surroundings villages in order to save as many girl Childs as they can through this campaign.
