Chandigarh-Haryana Labour Department has implemented a novel initiative to enhance its operations' transparency, efficiency, and integrity. This involves equipping all officials with advanced QR-code-based dynamic identification cards. These cards offer several functionalities beyond mere identification.
The newly introduced QR-based ID cards are secure and boast features that enable real-time validation. Furthermore, digital documentation of visits ensures clear and transparent record-keeping, fostering accountability.
To guarantee a smooth and secure transition, the department has collected all previous ID cards from officials, eliminating the risk of unauthorised use of outdated identification. The details on the ID card can be immediately validated by scanning QR code. The most latest status of the employee is displayed after scanning the QR code thus providing accuracy, real-time updated information and prevention of duplicate Identification. To further simplify validation exact replica of the printed ID card is provided in QR code Scan. For ease of use, the HRMS Employee ID number has also been printed. For use in case of theft, emergency, misplacement etc emergency contact number is also printed.
Regardless of any damage or mutilated parts of the ID card, scanning the QR code will accurately display the complete ID card details as originally issued. The QR code provides real-time status updates on transfers, promotions or contract expiration of officials, further strengthening security measures. This move not only aims at reducing identity misuse and potential impersonation but also makes the field visits, inspections and verification process more transparent and reliable.
If any official is found using the old id card or misusing the new one, strict disciplinary action shall be taken. The complete transition to QR-based ID cards highlights Labour Department’s unwavering commitment to fostering innovative governance practices.
