Chief Minister chairs approval of projects in HPPC and HPWPC meeting

Chandigarh- A water treatment plant (WTP) with a capacity of 57 million liters per day (MLD) will be established in the Industrial Model Township Kharkhoda located in Sonipat district of Haryana. In a meeting of the High Power Workers Purchase Committee (HPWPC) held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal here today, about Rs 118 crore was approved for the design, construction and commissioning of this project.

In addition, contracts and purchases of various items worth about Rs 774 crore were approved during the meetings of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), Departmental High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC), and High Power Workers Purchase Committee (HPWPC). Approximately Rs 30 crore was saved through rate negotiations with various bidders during the meeting.

Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda and Minister of State for Labour Sh Anup Dhanak were also present in the meeting. A total of 32 agenda items were presented during the meeting, out of which 29 were approved.

During the meeting, the agenda for the construction of a Government Women College in Jatusana, Rewari district, was approved, with an estimated cost of approximately Rs 13 crore. Additionally, approval was granted for the construction of a Government Women College in Chammu Kalan, Kurukshetra district, at a cost of about Rs 14 crore. Furthermore, to enhance educational infrastructure, approval was also given for the construction of government colleges in Bond Kalan, Charkhi Dadri, and Dujana, Jhajjar. Both of these projects will be undertaken at an approximate cost of Rs 28 crore.

Approval was also granted for the construction of 4 railways under bridges in the Loharu assembly constituency of Bhiwani district, at an estimated cost of about Rs 22 crore. Additionally, approval was given for the construction of a 2-lane Railway Over Bridge between Lahli-Kalanor station on Rohtak-Bhiwani on Beri-Kalanor-Maham road in Rohtak district, with an approximate cost of Rs 21 crore.

In the meeting, development works worth about Rs 71 crore were approved under Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). This includes works related to construction of 22 MLD capacity water treatment plant, construction of OHSR upgradation/ improvement, construction and upgradation of boosting station in Sector 16 Part-1. Apart from this, for the augmentation of water supply scheme in Faridabad under Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, approval was given for construction of 5 rainy wells and 1 main boosting station at a cost of Rs 97 crore.

The meeting also approved the construction work of 2-lane railway over bridge on Tohana-Kulana-Ratia Road Jakhal-Hisar railway line at level crossing C-6 at Jamalpur Shekhan in Fatehabad district at a cost of about Rs 21 crore. Apart from this, approval worth crores of rupees was also given for special repair and strengthening of roads in Bhiwani, Ambala and Hisar districts and other works including establishment of 4 new 33 KV air insulated sub-stations under Operation Circle Yamunanagar and Panipat.

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh V. Umashankar, Principal Advisor Urban Development Sh DS Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Sh Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of Town and Country Planning Department Sh Arun Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Energy Department Sh AK Singh, Chairman of HPUs Sh PK Das, Director General of Supplies and Disposal Department Mohammad Shayin, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Managing Director of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Dr. Amit Agrawal and other senior officials were also present on this occasion.
