Teenager Charged in Connection with Multiple Break-ins in Australia

Sydney, Dec 7: A 16-year-old boy has been charged by Queensland Police following investigations into a series of break-ins in Smithfield, a suburb of Cairns, Australia.

According to a police statement, two boys allegedly broke into multiple units in a residential complex early Saturday morning, stealing various items before fleeing. During the incident, they reportedly assaulted an 86-year-old male occupant in one of the units.

Details of the Charges
The teenager faces multiple charges, including:

Robbery
Serious assault of a person over 60
Receipt of tainted property
Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
The elderly man was not seriously injured and received medical attention at the scene.

The 16-year-old is scheduled to appear in children’s court on Monday. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with police working to identify all parties involved.
